puppy love.
Puppy makes us laugh constantly. I think he spends more of his life on his back than anything else. Which is hilarious for a dog of his massive size.
Current Dilemma:
Cone of Shame or No cone of shame? (Me? YES! Colin? NO.)
Anyone want a baby bloodhound?
Happy Sunday.

7 words.
To my husband, I loved the look on your face when I came in the house and showed you THIS.
7 words. so. glad. this. didn't. happen. at. school.
new jcrew pants. fail.
On another note, I received one of the sweetest gifts ever from one of my kids today.
This precious gift was a much needed reminder and made me even more thankful for the 20 great reasons I have to go to work every day.
Last but not least, husband has quite a few papers to grade. So do I.
{these are his.}

{past month in pictures.}
Hooray for a snow day to catch up on so many things. Including this little blog of mine.
Welp, we have been making some delicious chili in honor of the (finally) cold(er) weather. This is our favorite recipe by FAR.
Black Bean Chili with Butternut Squash and Swiss Chard
Thank you to my mother-in-love and Epicurious for this dish.
{I know what you're thinking.... A chili without MEAT?! Affirmative. This is filling, delicious, and super fabulous with a slice of cornbread smothered in honey.} And if you're a for-sure meat eater when it comes to chili, throw in some cooked ground turkey. And let me know how it goes.
My sissies and I have had lots of fun times lately. Including spending 3+ hours trying to figure out how to make cupcakes and actually making them! Combined with presh Anthropologie aprons which every girl should have, Pandora, and socks on a tile floor, this was a BLAST. Looking forward to more cooking ventures with her.
Cayla also celebrated her SWEET 16. Feeling o-l-d. Well, her and her 2 best friends packed their bags and headed to College Station for an Italian dinner, mocktails and a photoshoot. All time favorite picture with the ladies.
Oh, and bonus point to THIS girl {Emily} who brought a tent!
This past month with my husband has been really sweet. And refining. There is so much about marriage that you just have to figure out when you get there. We (mostly I) have asked for each other's forgiveness too many times to count. Despite my stubbornness and difficult-ness (Spellcheck is insisting that's not a word), Colin has gone above and beyond to make me feel known. Whether that's getting up to make my favorite Carrot Banana Pineapple smoothie, writing me notes in my lunch, starting my car on cold days, or pursuing me creatively, my heart has been filled with joy in the fact that the man I love is so anxious to love me well.
{I also appreciate how the creative way he woke me up the other morning: acting like a rolling pin and then a fish out of water.}
Last but not least, we had our SNOW DAY.
Puppy was a little unsure at first.
But then Colin started getting him excited.
We played outside for quite a while and then went on a walk.
And he STILL refused to come inside.
When he finally did come inside, he wanted right in Colin's lap. Love our goober.
