wrinkles and surprises.

Beloved, I got the bestest surprise today {unless you would have mailed yourself in a box to wherever I was, of course} - my ring is fixed! Just like brand new! Oh, and the first fruits of our {I've already forgot the name} ROSE are beautiful. Thanks for picking it for me. Humble veggie and herb garden, soak in the sun, drink in the water, and GROW! We want to eat you! Eye wrinkles, I cannot tell if you are smile lines, stress lines, or rapid aging lines. I COULD, perhaps, throw out some names of children that probably put them there. Two words: WORTH. IT.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

l-o, l-o, l-o, l-o-v-e.

This week was a total DOOZIE. And I am sure the next couple of weeks we have until TAKS will be just as crazy. Husband, thank you for sneaking up to school and leaving a love note in my car. I love being your sweet girl. Thank you for creatively pursuing me for like the 2 hours you saw me each day. I am so lucky to be YOURS. 3rd graders, our Poetry Coffeehouse was great. I loved hearing you read with excitement, snap instead of clap, and drink out of donated Starbucks cups. I wouldn't trade you all for a mountain of Sour Patch Kids with a Skinny Vanilla Latte on top.

Oh, and Meredith {lover and best friend, all wrapped into one with a ribbon on it}, YOU ARE ENGAGED! Do you hear me? YOU ARE ENGAGED. I want to scream from the tippy top of a mountain of how faithful the Lord has been to see you and Mike through the last 4 years I have known you. I cannot WAIT for July 2, 2011.

Last, but CERTAINLY not least.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAMELA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! To my blonde bestie who is far, far away in Dallas. Thank you for letting me live with you in good 'ol Mosh Freshman year, call you MACHO PAM, and snuggle just about whenever I wanted. Missing your beautiful smile and back massages.

SB. day 4.

I can't even wait until this evening to share this incredible video my sister-in-love made for a photography class. I couldn't believe that she would choose our little family to use as inspiration for her photography class project at Baylor. She had to tell a story through pictures and we giggled the whole time at what an incredible job she did capturing the love, simplicity, and joy in our life together. Plus, puppy got his first movie star appearance. And my kids at school loved seeing their Hannah. We are so lucky, blessed by, and proud of her!

Enjoy!

SB. day 3.

Husband, I left early to go to school and left you a sticky note on the granola we made together yesterday. You were right - it tastes like New Zealand. All that was missing were the best cappuccinos in the WORLD, windy weather, and Kiwi accents. I love you more than all of the oats in our granola! Sweet teacher friends, thank you for the awesome afternoon. Girl time really does your soul goooooood. Stupid computer virus, you make me want to drop kick you, throw you out the window, and then let One slobber all over you. PLEASE bring back my lesson plans!

My love, dinner with you is always exceptional. You picked scallops encrusted with seasoned cornmeal, a chipotle vinaigrette, and brown rice. I like trying new things with you - like figuring out where the muscles are on the outside of the scallops and how to get them the heck off! Oh, and thank you for my weeds {flowers} in our cute little vintage glass baby bottle. You are so thoughtful.

Oh, happy day #3!

SB. day 2.

This SB is proving to be everything relaxing, exciting, creative, and simple. Just what I have dreamed for. Too excited to wait until the end of the post to share these great new pictures of my little sissy. All growing up and graduating and whatnot. PS you may or may not be my laptop background right now. {Okay, you totally ARE.}

Check out more at our officially unofficial website: http://cargocollective.com/cplusc

Husband and I started the morning with a looooonnnng bike ride {like 21 miles}. Since we have rode this way twice before and I had no tunes, I started to get a little bored. That will offend Colin if I say that, so I had a streak of "ADD".... {better? okay.} To finish the last 8 miles without breaking out in my own song, I decided to play Mario Kart in my head. I have grown up playing this game and what more motivation do you need to finish the last 8 miles of a bike ride in the middle of nowhere than pretending YOU are a character in Mario Kart?! We were getting "jewels", making sounds depending on the various jewels we got, and re-enacting what it would be like on the screen if we got those jewels. It was quite entertaining and way too revealing that I have played that game WAY too much. Thanks Mario Kart for Wii for saving my sanity.

Looking forward to the rest of the break.

Oh, happy {beautiful} day #2!

SB. {official} day 1.

Already in love with the simplicity of Spring Break. Looking forward to the next week of this!

First things first, I got this new outdoor rug at World Market and am obsessed. It screams "COME IN!" If I wasn't excited to come home each day to husband and puppy, THIS would make me want to come home and pitch a tent right here. Despite the scratchiness. Contemplating getting one for the back porch, bathroom, and my side of the bed.

{love}

SB '11 kicked off with husband chopping wood {note the battle wounds}, building a fire in our firepit, grilling steaks and smores, and being silly with pupsters.

I must also brag about my new Essie nail polish - TART DECO {love the names of these things}. Colin let me go get my nails done and I'm working it here with my yogatoes. I know, DORK.

{it's really orang-ey here, but it's really coral.}

Husband, I loved waking up to you and the pouring rain this morning. TART DECO nail polish, you make my toes feel like I'm carrying sunshine with me wherever I go. Puppy, can't believe you decided to mark your territory on the front desk of the vet's office this morning. Children are embarrassing. National Pi Day, I can't wait to make our Apple Skillet Pie in honor of this special day. Shout out to math lovers everywhere.

Oh, happy day.

texasflu.org

While spending Day 3 doing NOTHING but laying on the couch watching reruns, working on school things, and reaping the benefits of having Netflix, I have decided to blog about the wonderful weekend with the flu. In fact, there was just a commercial for TexasFlu.org which encouraged you to:

1. Get Vaccinated. (Already done)
2. Wash hands frequently. (Please, I work in a school, I have hand sanitizer on my lanyard which I dispense like 17 times daily)
3. Cover coughs and sneezes. (Naturally)
4. Stay home if you are sick. (Straight up what I'm doing now....)
5. Convince those around you to follow steps 1-4. (Perfect, I'll do that during Morning Meeting with my kids tomorrow)

Thanks Texas Flu, I'll make sure and pass this valuable information on maintaining that I'm a total anomaly.

A few things that have gotten me through the weekend...

Homemade orange jello. Homemade because husband didn't know that they came pre-packaged.

This lovely array of medicine. Tamiflu is incredible stuff.

These two cute boys.

AND a surprise shipment from Mast Brother's Chocolate for my husband. Check them out. Incredible talent and care for their product.

The Mast Brothers from The Scout on Vimeo.

AND Natalia on CSI is about to be kidnapped. Called it. Too much television lately.

Happy Monday.
