happy birthday to ME {Onesie}.

Well hello friends. It's me, One, here to tell you all about my very first birthday. And let me tell you, I've got my Mommy and Daddy in the "palm" of my paw! It all started when Mommy gave me a giant octopus, Daddy gave me some tasty bones and they both pulled out the special Birthday banner and made me a Funfetti cake. De-lish I tell you.

I started getting really drool-ey, but instead of just giving me my cake, Mommy and Daddy {well, mostly Mommy} wanted to take some birthday pictures. I didn't want any part of these pictures. ME. WANT. CAKE.

Well I had my cake and got to eat it too. All in all it was a great first birthday. Now time to snuggle with my ginormous green octopus and try and sneak up on my throne {Mommy and Daddy's bed}. Nighty night!

Love,
One

sticky fingers.

Well tomorrow I will put on my waterproof mascara {yeah, saved from my WEDDING} and say goodbye to 13 of my 3rd grade littles leaving me with just 6 more of them for the next 2 weeks for some extra practice. Oh, I just love them and cannot believe it is our last day of all being together {this year} - the last of our Morning Meetings, Zoom! game, planet painting, goofy singing, bear hugs, and hot chip fingers.

I have never, ever been able to eat Cheetohs HOT chips, but since getting to be these incredible littles' teacher for a whole entire year, not a day goes by that I am not forced {okay, not so much, I ask for them too} to eat these spicy little things. Best of all, after you eat a bag of these, you are left with the Cheetoh dilemma - to lick your fingers or NOT to lick your fingers? These chips leave a bright red stain on your fingertips. Which makes for even BETTER bear hugs. Sidenote: this washes off with the regular Tide detergent. As their graduation present {to me} my kiddos have been bringing me little bags of hot chips from the corner store on their way to school. Which means the WORLD to me because these chips are like GOLD to my kids. My tummy hurts.

SO proud of my {now} 4th grade littles - who are a little more grown up.

snowcone fairytale.

Once upon a time there was this girl. She loved Blue Bubblegum Snowcones.

Not far away lived this boy with an aversion to Blue Bubblegum Snowcones. He preferred more manly, grown up flavors like Tiger's Blood and Peach.

Well, this boy made a bet with the Blue Bubblegum Snowcone girl that she couldn't eat a BBG snowcone every single day for the entire summer. She took his bet and started the summer strong. Long story short she had to have ankle surgery and couldn't drive, so she couldn't get these delicious sweets everyday. This boy continues to believe he won the bet. Even today.

I believe the girl won by default. I mean, they DID live happily ever after.

Happy Saturday.

say WHAT?

Smartypants {husband}, I walked into your man room the other day and found this scrawled on the whiteboard normally used for to-do lists and love notes. Holy guacamole, you are incredible. I don't tell you NEAR enough. Thank you for dating me - for leaving notes that make me blush on my car at school, for taking me out for lunch dates, driving all around town to find a Blue Bubblegum snowcone, and helping the old man down the street put the baby woodpeckers back in their nest. You are loved.

Family, you guys are loved more than the grains of rice in my favorite Pei Wei dish. Happy birthday to the BEST racquetball playing, chinese talking, calculus-loving grandpa that I know. You inspire me.

Mike and Meredith, you guys give me goosebumps. We were so blessed to take your pretty pictures and are even MORE blessed to be part of your special day. Marriage is AWESOME.

To the best salad and sister-in-love EVER. I looking forward to making you {the salad} again asap and sharing this recipe with the world. Something this fabulous should be shared. I loved our speedy Anthropologie trip, girl talk, and double dates. Round 2 soon!

Happy Sunday.
